Welcome to Dishforth Parish Councils Website.

We are now back up and running and wanted to share with you some facts about the parish.

Dishforth is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire.

The name Dishforth translates from the Old English as dic-ford; a ford by a dike or ditch.

The Electoral Roll 2022 -2023 shows 762 electors (residents who can vote in an election), and approximately 405 dwellings.

Dishforth is located north of Dishforth Airfield, which up until April 2016 was an Army Air Corps helicopter station.

Notice Dated 04 September 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN – that due to the resignation of Anne Sturzaker, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council.

If by 24 September 2024 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Proper Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option. If an election is called, it will take place not later than 26 November 2024.
